At Mike Cusack Homes we use the same process for a custom remodeling project that we do for the construction of a new custom home. We meet with the customer at their house to talk about the remodeling project they are considering. After we have talked with the customer about their ideas we take digital pictures of the interior and exterior of the house as well as detailed measurements. Once we have pictures and measurement we then start on a set of construction drawings for the remodel. After we have finished the initial drawings we set a meeting with the homeowners to make any changes to the floor plan and discuss the finish out details of the remodel. We then write specifications for the interior and exterior of the remodel then we prepare a budget that accounts for all materials, labor and allowances that will be used in the construction of the remodel. In addition to the construction drawing, the specifications and the budget we make a line of progression for the construction that outline the process from start to finish.
Mike Cusack Homes knows that the best way to avoid any misunderstandings is to make sure that both the builder and the homeowners are on the same page. The best way to do this is with a detailed plan that outlines the work to be done, the type of materials to be used and an approximate time that will be needed to complete the project. We take the time to discuss all these details at length with the homeowners in order to make sure they are comfortable with the work that is going to take place. This is very important to the success of the project. Never underestimate how good old fashioned TLC contributes to a successful remodeling project.
Custom home builders really do make the best choice for major remodeling projects. Please feel free to give us a call for any question you may have about the building process.
